Grass Valley City Council rejected an appeal against a new South Church Street office development, ruling that concerns over parking, traffic safety, and landscaping were premature at this stage.
The Grass Valley City Council held a special meeting Monday night and denied the appeal of the recent approval of the Planning Commission of a two-lot tentative parcel map application for administrative office uses on South Church Street. But Associate Planner Vanessa Franken agreed that at least some of the concerns had merit. That included about the parking lot, which may eventually be owned by the city. The appellant mentioned landscaping, residential buffers and screening, as well as lighting. But the Council agreed with Franken that the appeal was premature…

Enos, told the Council that the staff report was not limited to approval of a
tentative map….
Enos also cited South School Street commercial driveway access concerns, clear sight distance, and pedestrian safety. His request to return the project to the Planning Commission for review and revisions was also denied.
