Gem and Mineral Show At Fairgrounds This Weekend
Gem and Mineral Show At Fairgrounds This Weekend
Beat the heat this weekend at the 59th Annual Gem and Mineral Show. Explore unique fossils, jewelry, and kid-friendly activities at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.
If it’s looking too hot for you this weekend to be outdoors much, the air conditioning should be fine at Earth Treasure’s 59th Annual Gem and Mineral Show at the Nevada County Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday. Once again, over 25 vendors will be offering everything, from specimens, jewelry, beads, and lapidary supplies and books. Appearing on KNCO’s On the Town, Gem and Mineral Society Vice-President Mark Allen said you can learn something from the many demonstrators…
Fossils are also prominent once again. Lori Woodhall, who does publicity for the Gem and Mineral Society, says the feature display will be a genuine Mosasaurus skeleton….
And while the event is designed to appeal to all ages, children have a special spot. There’s the always-popular Kids’ Corner. There will be fun and games and great rock prizes, grab bags, and other educational activities. And you get in free if you’re 12 years old or younger. But, otherwise, admission is only five dollars at the Gem and Mineral Show. It’s happening from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.
