A free community conversation about legacy planning and the future of the arts and culture in Nevada County is coming up later this month at the Center for the Arts. Amador says legacy planning is often treated as something we do much later in life. But she says philanthropy can evolve with us throughout our lives…

But Amador also notes that it isn’t necessarily something reserved for people with a lot of money. She says this conversation, which she hopes will be held annually, is an opportunity to think about what we value, what we want for our community to look like in the future, and the many ways we can begin investing in that future now. And she also indicates that the arts tends to be overlooked.  The panel, which will also take questions, includes the new Executive Director of Nevada County Arts and Culture, Robin Garcia, and Julie Baker, with California for the Arts and California Arts Advocates. That’s Friday, October 23rd, from 5:30 to 7:30pm. You are asked to RSVP on the Center for the Arts website. Amador says pizza and beverages will also be offered. And the comedic group Laughter Shock will welcome the gathering, to add a little levity to the proceedings.
