Some people say visiting the Empire mine state historic park for Holidays at Empire Mine is like walking through an old fashioned Christmas card. For over two decades the event has been a popular answer for where to take the family and visitors for the days after Thanksgiving. Bob Jennings has been preparing the park for the annual event for the last few years.

The Bourn family cottage and the mine yard will be open with black smithies making baubles and roasting chestnuts. Santa will also be available in the club house which will be decorated with the authentic ornaments actually used by the Bourn family. They  are delivered to the park each year by the State Parks Curator.
