A great addition to the Memorial Day activities in Western Nevada County were the Blue Star Moms.  First off, heard that the talks from the Moms were very moving at Memorial Park.  And then, after my holiday air shift, it was a great sight to see groups at the overpasses throughout the Grass Valley and Nevada City areas, holding flags and holding vigil in honor of those military members who were killed in action and had the bridges and overpasses named in their honor.  I did not take part in the walk between those overpasses, but saw many people doing the hike…most of them women, by the way.   It was simple, patriotic and very powerful.  Thank you Blue Star Moms!
