Okay, If you want to me happy, here ya go – Appreciate the good times and stop comparing your experiences to those of others.  Simple huh?  Here’s another scientific insight, most of us get used to the Happiness we have, then raise the standards by which we will be happy again.  So Happiness is like an addictive drug.  In the beginning it only takes a little to make us happy, clean diapers, a bottle, a hug, a smile.  Then we need a new bike, a car, a motorcycle, a snowmobile, a boat, a truck, a faster car, a bigger truck, a better house, more stuff to fill the bigger house.

I tell you what, as a grandparent, I am learning to appreciate the good times.  I have also learned to tone down those expectations.  Actually I think the older we get the bell curve of happiness bends back down and we learn to appreciate the things we long ago forgot made us happy.  Heck I know most days I’d appreciate a hug, a smile, and a bottle of my own!
