Expanded Philosophy For CHAMP Gallery
Expanded Philosophy For CHAMP Gallery

Nevada City’s CHAMP Gallery is seeking proposals from local artists and groups for new exhibitions, offering flexible partnership models and stipends up to $1,000. Apply by November 19 to showcase your art.
The City of Nevada City and Public Arts Commission are looking to bring new and exciting exhibitions to the CHAMP Gallery. City Manager Carrie Wright says they want to highlight a new philosophy behind the Gallery, with the Commission looking to partner with local and regional arts organizations, nonprofits, artists collectives, and community groups…
Wright says the city is offering two flexible partnership
opportunities. She says Organization-Led Exhibitions feature the artists
developing and managing an exhibition. That includes artist coordination,
installation, promotion, and an opening reception. Qualifying organizations may
receive a stipend of up to a-thousand dollars. With City-Supported Exhibitions,
artist partners develop the concept, while the City assists with the
installation, promotion, and reception activities. No stipend is provided with
this model…
Gallery space will be provided at no charge. The City
especially encourages proposals that highlight the area’s history and culture,
engage youth and community members, or provide opportunities for emerging
artists. The initial proposal deadline is November 19th at 3pm. But
proposals will continue to be accepted for future consideration after the
initial deadline.
