No Non-Citizens Voting Here According To NevCo Clerk-Recorder

Nevada County officials confirm no evidence of non-citizen voting after a DOJ probe flagged 10 individuals, reaffirming the integrity and legality of the current registration process.
More details have been released from the Nevada County Elections Office regarding possible concerns of non-citizen voting here for the November races. Only 10 individuals were flagged by the U.S. Department of Justice, out of over 76-thousand registered, as, quote, “likely non-citizens”. But County Clerk-Recorder, Armando Salud-Ambriz, says his review has found no evidence of non-citizen voting here. And he says only two of those people are currently registered and both attested to their citizenship. And the other eight are unable to vote…
And although the courts are indicating that the Department of Justice has no legal right to ask elections departments to set aside these ballots, among 20-thousand in California, Salud-Ambriz still sees the investigation as another opportunity to illustrate the integrity of the process…
Salud-Ambriz informed the Department of Justice that their letter provided no individualized evidence sufficient to establish that any registered voter on the list provided was not a citizen. He also pointed out that withholding otherwise valid ballots pending that determination would conflict with the Registrar of Voters’ duties, under federal and state law, and, therefore, cannot lawfully comply with the request, on the basis presented.
