We’re getting closer to Election Night, which is tonight. And among the notable Nevada County races are four candidates vying for two open seats on the Grass Valley City Council that are being vacated by Haven Caravelli and Hilary Hodge. That’s Scott Beesley, Paul Wright, Ed Pevvey, and former Councilmember Bob Branstrom. There are also two seats open on the NID Board of Directors. Terry McAteer and Jesse White are seeking to replace Ricki Heck, who is not seeking a new term. And James Smith is trying to unseat Chris Bierwagen. There are also numerous special district and school district races. That includes two open seats on the Nevada Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees. Nina Kopp is trying to unseat Olivia Pritchett, with Tim Giroux and Keith Allen vying for a seat being vacated by Ken Johnson. Voters in the Pleasant Grove School District are also considering a bond measure and voters in Nevada City are considering changes to short-term rental regulations.
