Niladri Kumaar returns to the Marisa Funk Theater on April 16, 2027 with The Space Between the Notes, a tour rooted in tradition and shaped by decades of musical partnership. As a fifth-generation sitar player trained since age four by his father and guru, Pandit Kartick Kumaar, Niladri Kumaar brings a depth of history to every performance, along with recognition that includes a Filmfare Award for Best Composer and the Sangeet Natak Akademi National Award, presented by the President of India. The evening will include music honoring his bond with tabla great Zakir Hussain, drawn from a live recording of their only performance together. Joining him on stage is an ensemble of accomplished Indian and American musicians who have performed alongside Deep Purple, Katy Perry, Dua Lipa, and some of the biggest names in Indian classical and fusion music.
