I spoke with Katie Davidson yesterday. She is a friend of the Ellsworth family of Penn Valley. Sherri and David Ellsworth’s eldest daughter Kayla is 12 years old and she has advanced lime disease. Kayla used to run with Katie in their neighborhood but now Kayla often needs crutches due to the the severe swelling in her knees. The Ellsworth’s believe Kayla has had lime’s disease for 4 years but has only been getting treated for the disease in the last year. Kayla has been getting treatments from a specialist in San Francisco and as you can imagine it is very expensive. That is why Katie wanted to tell me about “A Night of Hope” its a dinner and silent auction to raise money for Kayla, to help cover some of the costs of making these appointments. The event is Friday, May 4th at the Calvary Bible Church at 5:30, dinner begins at 6. Tickets are $15 for adults and $6 for kids. For more information you can call 263-5837.
