The 40th Annual Kids Trout Derby will be held Saturday April 21 at Lions Lake at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. Children 3-12 are eligible to fish, but everyone is invited to enjoy the day as a family.

Every child who wishes to participate and be eligible for prizes must sign up. Derby signup starts at 7 a.m.. Fishing will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and continue until noon.

Weigh-in will be during fishing hours and continue until all fish are recorded. When weigh–in is finished, then prizes will be awarded, hopefully around 12:30 p.m.
Sportsman’s Club member Mike Caston says they have stocked plenty of fish in Lions lake just for this event.
