Jury Has Guilty Verdict In Child Sex Abuse Case

A Nevada County jury has convicted William Ferris of child sex abuse, with the predator now facing a potential sentence of up to 38 years to life in prison.
The Nevada County District Attorney’s Office is highlighting another child sex abuse conviction on its Facebook page. D-A Jesse Wilson says a jury has found William Ferris guilty of two felony counts, regarding a girl under 10 years old. He says the crimes took place at a home in the Nevada City area during one day last year. He says Ferris faces a maximum sentence of 23 years to life in prison on one count, and 15 years to life for the other one…
Wilson declined to state how the child was related to
Ferris, other than he knew the victim. The verdicts came after a three-week
trial and cases like this are always challenging…
In a statement on the Facebook page, Wilson also said, quote, “society has no place for individuals who prey on our most vulnerable population”, unquote. He also said his office will be seeking punishment to the fullest extent of the law. A sentencing date is expected soon.
