Community Spay and Neuter Program: 343 Pets Assisted in First Year

Nevada County’s successful low-cost spay and neuter program marks one year of helping residents.
These procedures typically cost between $300 and $900, depending on the animal's size, sex, age and other factors. Through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and veterinary providers, the County spent an average of $218 per procedure.
The County is also exploring mobile veterinary services for residents who are unable to travel to traditional veterinary clinic locations. Learn more or get on the waitlist for the program at www.NevadaCountyCA.gov/SpayAndNeuter.
